As an assistant professional at Waialae Country Club, Kevin honed his golf skills and became a prominent tournament player in Hawaii.

In 1994-95, Kevin played tournament golf full-time, taking a leave of absence from his job. He played the South African Tour, the PGA of America Tournament Series and the Golden State Tour. Upon returning to Waialae CC, he began a eight year tenure as Head Teaching Professional.
